An den Quellen des Maelbeek-Baches, in unmittelbarer Nähe zu einem großen Wald gründeten Nonnen 1201 ein Kloster, das zu einem der bedeutendsten Benediktiner-Zentrum der Region werden sollte. Von der friedvollen und grünen Umgebung wurden jedoch nicht nur die Nonnen angelockt und so entstand im Laufe der Jahrhunderte hier ein besonderes architektonisches Ensemble von hoher Qualität.

Auf unserem Spaziergang werden Sie die architektonische Vielfalt dieses angesagten Viertels kennenlernen: Von der Abtei und ihren Gärten zu ungewöhnlichen Jugendstilbauten und Art Deco Schätzen. Selbst einen architektonischen Ozeandampfer gibt es zu entdecken…

Attirées par la proximité de la forêt et par la source du Maelbeek, des moniales fondent en 1201 ce qui deviendra une des plus importantes abbayes bénédictines de nos régions. Our walk will allow you to discover, along the ponds of Ixelles, the abbey of La Cambre and its gardens, magnificent Art nouveau and Art deco facades, including the ocean liner stranded on the trendy Place Flagey.
