Expo 58 in Brussels literally put the world at our feet! From the overhead walkway, we study the futuristic constructions of the international section which give concrete expression of a humanistic and modern world within our grasp. Almost 70 years on, the rickshaws have gone and a few illusions have been shattered… It is, though, a pleasure to dive into the delightfully “retro” atmosphere of Expo 58 and to enjoy its decorative greenery… The Atomium, symbol of a new era, has regained its lustre. Other less well-known witnesses remind us of the optimistic period of Joyful Belgium and of the conquest of space. Nostalgia?
